For a show which has previously dedicated itself to destruction and death, this episode was straight out of a Disney fairy tale. Did anything bad happen besides Arya getting beat up with a stick?

Yes, there was a lot of setup and that may be needed. But this was not a good episode in my opinion. There were a couple of jokes that seemed to fit a more modern sense of humor than what we've seen in the previous 5 seasons of GoT.

1) The Khal says that seeing a woman naked for the first time is one of the best things to happen. His lackies mention some other things then Khal chimes in with something like, "Ok it's one of the 5 best..." The humor didn't fit anything we've seen.

2) Davos after being asked to march south asks for some mutton because he's not a hunter. This seemed to fit a bit better than Khal's joke, but it still seemed out of place.

Fun fact for the day - evidently Mereen uses customary measurements. They have an 800 foot tall pyramid.

I don't really think the second one was supposed to be a joke. I found it more to be a way for Davos to leave them alone so. But the Khal joke is definitely horrible.

Does Cersei's acknowledgement that she's a monster and sadness that she lost her good and pure daughter equal sympathy from the viewer or do her past and likely future deeds cancel that out?

Tyrion deserves arbitrary fantasy points for the confusion about eating that woman's baby.

Seeing a beautiful woman naked among the 5 best things in life- tried to hard for humor in that moment, the looks on the captors faces when they learned Dany speaks Dothraki and understood everything they said about her on the walk was good enough there.

*Chelsea fell for it. She said, "I don't like her, but losing your daughter. I feel bad for her." I replied, "Harumph"

"Tyrion deserves arbitrary fantasy points for the confusion about eating that woman's baby."
*I just now put together that the money he was handing out was probably seen as buying the baby to eat. Yikes.

This was not a good episode in my opinion. Nothing really moved forward and everything was a set up for later, but even the setups were boring. The only thing that actually happened was when Brienne of Tarth (possibly my favorite character) came and rescued Sansa Stark and I guess you can throw in the Switcheroo at the end, but that really was still some setup and I don't count setup as things happening. Sort of like in Avengers Age of Ultron was all set up.

In the last season or possibly even more the show of gone from being a game for the throne and to more of a war style. I may be wrong, but it just feels to me like the show has become less political and more about fighting your way around to win. This may be due to the fact that they are showing more of the outsiders and the people that do truly need to fight to get the throne, but I'm not entirely sure about that. Even when it comes to Khaleesi, she has had to put up with people trying to kill her when it would be more inline with the show to have people running around in the background trying to get an mutiny of sorts started with them being the leader. This episode showed us the guy on his soapbox badmouthing her so maybe that will start up, but I've been not really as interested right now as I was earlier in the show.

I'm with you on that second paragraph.

The drama in King's Landing and those headed in that direction >>> whatever is going on now.
